During all home football games, there will be campus gate closures and parking restrictions beginning three hours prior to kickoff. 

  • The LaRoche Avenue gate will close three hours prior to kickoff. No vehicles may enter or exit. The LaRoche gate will remain closed throughout the event for the safety of pedestrians.
  • The Jasmine, Whatley and Falligant Avenue gates will remain open. Parking fees to enter campus will begin 2.5 hours prior to kickoff.   
  • Students, faculty and staff with valid parking decals will be allowed to enter campus at no charge. University decals will not allow for stadium parking. Students will be able to access all student parking areas with valid student parking permits. 
  • Only patrons with valid VIP parking credentials will be allowed to park at the stadium parking. Passes for stadium parking are available for purchase. 

 

 REMAINING HOME FOOTBALL GAME SCHEDULE   

    • Sept. 30 vs. Edwards Waters at 6 p.m. (Closures begin at 3 p.m.)
    • Oct 21 vs. Tuskegee University (Homecoming) at 3 p.m. (Closures begin at 9 a.m.)
    • Oct. 28 vs. Benedict College at 3 p.m. (Closures begin at 12 p.m.)·

SSU Announces 2025 Scholarship Gala

Savannah State University (SSU) is pleased to announce the 26th Anniversary Scholarship Gala will be held on Saturday, Apr. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Savannah Convention Center. The annual community event celebrates local leaders while raising funds to provide financial assistance to SSU students, 90% of whom receive some sort of financial assistance for college. Dr. Jermaine Whirl Named SSU President

Dr. Jermaine Whirl   The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) today named Dr. Jermaine Whirl president of Savannah State University (SSU), effective April 1, 2025. Whirl, an Aspen Fellow, most recently served as president of Augusta Technical College (ATC), a role he has held since November 2020. Whirl’s career includes nearly 20 years of service as a faculty member and administrative leader at public colleges and universities in his home state of South Carolina and in Georgia.
