Savannah State University Commemorates Founders Day on Nov. 9

 


What: The 2023 Founders Day observance. The program celebrates the history of Savannah State University (SSU) and those who have contributed to its success since its establishment on November 26, 1890. There will be presentation of awards to members of the community.

Who: Alumna MarRonde A. Lumpkin-Lotson ’93, '00, assistant director of economic development for the City of Savannah, will deliver the Founders Day address. Students, faculty, staff and special guests will join in the celebration.

When: Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m.

Where: The Student Union Ballroom on the SSU campus, 3219 College Street Savannah, Ga. 31404

Savannah State University Presidential Search Committee Named

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 13, 2024 The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) today named members of the Savannah State University (SSU) Presidential Search Committee. The committee will conduct a national search for a permanent president to lead the historic university. President Cynthia Robinson Alexander has held the interim role since July 1, 2023, following the departure of the previous president, Kimberly Ballard-Washington.
