President's Financial Aid Update

 July 12, 2024

Dear Savannah State Tigers and families,

I am writing to you as we look forward to all students returning to campus in August. Many of you are aware of the challenges colleges and universities across the nation have been facing with the federal processing of the 2025 FAFSA form. Unfortunately, SSU is also experiencing some of the same challenges. We are proactively working with our external partners and additional staff to expedite the review and processing of financial aid award decisions. Despite the delay, we remain confident that we will be able to address any specific financial aid concerns you may have.

I want to assure you that we will work with you to complete and post the financial aid award packages to your account as quickly as possible. I ask for your continued patience and encourage you to check your accounts daily. As quickly as our university's financial aid team receives the processed FAFSAs, they are diligently reviewing them and preparing financial aid awards for this fall. We are committed to working with you to ensure you can return in the fall with financial aid intact, full course schedules, and campus housing ready for move-in week.

We ask that you be prepared, persistent, and patient. We are working hard for you and look forward to seeing you in the fall! Thank you for being vigilant and working with us to ensure all students can successfully complete their education at Savannah State University.

With Tiger pride,

Cynthia Robinson Alexander, J.D.

Interim President

By collaborating with local, national, and international partners, we have secured internship opportunities for our students in manufacturing, healthcare, and several Dutch-owned companies, pursuant to a successful summer visit with the King and Queen of the Neth...
