The campus of Savannah State University will continue normal operations based on the latest data provided by the National Weather Service, Chatham County Emergency Agency, and the National Hurricane Center. Our leadership team is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and conducting formal check-ins multiple times daily to assess new information.

The safety of our students is our utmost priority. Campus efforts are spearheaded by Chief Thomas with support from the SSU leadership team and local government agencies. We encourage students to stay prepared and remain focused on their classes. Rest assured, we will promptly update you with any changes to university operations.

Savannah State University Presidential Search Committee Named

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 13, 2024 The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) today named members of the Savannah State University (SSU) Presidential Search Committee. The committee will conduct a national search for a permanent president to lead the historic university. President Cynthia Robinson Alexander has held the interim role since July 1, 2023, following the departure of the previous president, Kimberly Ballard-Washington.
