Isaiah Clark, Class of 2025
Savannah State University (SSU) Junior Isaiah Clark has been selected as one of 25 members of the AT&T Rising Future Makers Class of 2024. The initiative recognizes and supports students from Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCUs) who are making an impact in their communities and on their campus.
“Our Rising Future Makers program hit a significant milestone this year, helping 100 HBCU students advance their careers and make the valuable connections they need to make impactful change in the world,” said Sabina Ahmed, Assistant Vice President of Sponsorships & Experiential at AT&T. “Through our purpose-driven sponsorships, we continue to champion innovation and growth by connecting the next generation of changemakers with the tools and resources they need to bring their ideas to life.”
A native of Austin, Texas, Clark is pursuing a double major in accounting and computer information systems, logistics and supply chain.
Clark is a member of the Savannah State Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and serves as chairman of Achievers of Today and Tomorrow, Inc., a student organization that mentors and uplifts the student body through a series of events and initiatives during the academic year. His involvement on campus led him to being selected to represent his class as Mr. Junior. Most recently, he and Ms. Junior hosted a guest speaker on campus who talked about the importance of financial literacy.
Outside of campus, Clark volunteers with Compassion Church and Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. For the 2024 general election, he volunteered with Black Voters Matter organization to help provide voter education and registration efforts.
“I’m very thankful for having been selected as one of the 25 winners of this award,” Clark said. “I’m blessed to be the first Savannah State student to receive this honor and I hope that other students on campus will now apply for this recognition.”
Each member of the class of 2024 will receive access to unique professional development and networking opportunities, as well as a $5,000 cash prize and a 5G-enabled tablet with one year of AT&T service. Since its start in 2021, the program has awarded $500,000 to 100 HBCU students.
