Inclement Weather Update - Jan. 22, 2025


Greetings, SSU Campus Community:

Due to the continued inclement weather, Savannah State University (SSU) will remain with an online format for all classes for students and remote work for non-essential in-person personnel. Essential personnel will report as defined below.

Student Updates:
  • Students should plan for an asynchronous learning environment through Thursday, January 23rd.
  • SSU Dining Update:
    • King Frazier Student Center
      • Continental breakfast: 9-10 am
      • Brunch: 11 am - 4 pm with dinner pickup during that time.
  • Student Union will be closed for dining.

Employee Updates:
  • SSU employees will continue to work remotely through Thursday, January 23rd. Employees are expected to work during normal business hours.
  • Essential personnel, including those from the Department of Public Safety, Campus Police, Facilities, Information Technology, and select members of the Student Affairs team, are required to report to work in person through the week or as directed by your supervisor.
As always, the safety of our students, faculty, and staff remains our top priority.

Tomorrow afternoon, we will provide instructions regarding Friday, January 24th, but it is anticipated that we will be back to normal operations.

Savannah State University Presidential Search Committee Named

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 13, 2024 The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) today named members of the Savannah State University (SSU) Presidential Search Committee. The committee will conduct a national search for a permanent president to lead the historic university. President Cynthia Robinson Alexander has held the interim role since July 1, 2023, following the departure of the previous president, Kimberly Ballard-Washington.
