SSU Inclement Weather Update - Jan. 23, 2005

Greetings, SSU Campus Community: 

The safety of our students, faculty, and staff remains our top priority. As freezing temperatures are anticipated for this evening, resulting in potentially hazardous conditions for travel in some areas, Savannah State University (SSU) will remain with an online format for all classes for students through Friday, January 24th. 

The University will reopen on Friday, January 24th, to resume normal operations for staff members who can safely report to work in person. 

 Student Updates:

  • Students should plan for an asynchronous learning environment through Friday, January 24th.
  • SSU Dining Update: 
    • King Frazier Student Center
      • Continental breakfast: 9-10 am
      • Brunch: 11 am- 2 pm with dinner pickup during that time. 
    • Student Union will be closed for dining. 
  • Saturday, January 25th the University food service will resume normal dining hours. 

Employee Updates:

  • The University will open on Friday, January 24th to resume normal operations for staff able to report to work safely.
  • All staff members unable to report to work in person must communicate with their supervisors and will be afforded telework or other options.

Savannah State University Presidential Search Committee Named

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 13, 2024 The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) today named members of the Savannah State University (SSU) Presidential Search Committee. The committee will conduct a national search for a permanent president to lead the historic university. President Cynthia Robinson Alexander has held the interim role since July 1, 2023, following the departure of the previous president, Kimberly Ballard-Washington.
