SSU Spring 2025 Semester Update

Dear SSU Campus Community,

We are excited to welcome both new and returning Tigers back to campus as classes begin on January 13, 2025. We recognize that some students may have encountered travel challenges due to the weather in central and northern Georgia. As a result, all absences for Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, 2025, due to inclement weather, will be excused.

It is crucial that students proactively communicate with their professors and university housing regarding any travel delays or challenges. Please reach out to your professors in advance to discuss any missed class time and to make arrangements for completing any missed assignments. Professors will collaborate with students to ensure any missed coursework is made up.

We look forward to a great semester ahead and wish you all a successful start to the year!

SSU Announces 40 Under 40 Awards Savannah State University (SSU) is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural 40 Under 40 Awards to recognize young alumni of the university who have made significant contributions to their profession and community. “Ideal candidates for the award should have achieved notable professional success, demonstrated exceptional leadership in their fields, made a positive impact in their communities and embodied the values and mission of Savannah State University,” said Cynthia Robinson Alexander, J.D., SSU Interim President. SSU Foundation, Inc. Elects New Officers

Chairwoman, Dr. Clementine Washington The Savannah State University Foundation elected new officers during its 2025 winter board meeting held January 18 on the Savannah State University campus. The new officers will serve a 3-year term and were sworn into their new roles effective immediately.
